At Wilmot Elementary, birthdays are celebrated and holidays recognized in a healthy, fun environment. For birthdays, students are crowned for the day with a special “happy birthday” recognition during announcements and a photo added to the “birthday stars board.” Families can bring in non-food alternatives to celebrate their child, following Jeffco’s district policy. Room moms help teachers plan two memorable parties with snacks and games that are environmentally friendly and healthy:

• On Halloween, families are encouraged to join the parade of costumes before afternoon classroom parties. View the Halloween party guidelines here.
• On Valentine's Day, families are invited to come to the classroom as students exchange Valentine's before afternoon parties.
